Privacy policy
What Omamo collects, why, who helps us run it, and how to have it removed. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your content to train AI.
Who we are
Omamo (omamo.app) is a place to keep what you find on the web. It is run by Dhruv Kothari, in India. For anything about your data, write tokotharidhruv25@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your Google account basics. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. We never see your Google password, and we ask for nothing else from your Google account.
- What you save. Links, titles, notes, images, and screenshots, and how you arrange them in spaces, boards, and collections. When you save a link, our server visits that page once to read its public title, description, image, and icon.
- From the Chrome extension. When you save tabs, we receive each tab's address, title, and icon, plus your browser type, the extension version, and the time. The extension reads your tabs only when you choose to save them.
- People you invite. The email addresses you enter to share a space.
- Payments. If you buy Pro, Dodo Payments handles the payment. We receive your plan, its status, the renewal date, and Dodo's customer and subscription IDs. We never see your card or bank details.
- Technical data. Your IP address and browser type, kept with your sign-in session and in our server logs, to keep your account secure and to stop abuse.
Cookies and local storage
We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in. Your browser's local storage keeps your theme and a note of whether you were signed in, so the right first screen loads. Omamo has no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies.
How we use it
To run Omamo: to store, sync, and search what you save, to sign you in, to share spaces with the people you invite, to bill Pro, to answer you when you write, and to keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.
Who helps us run Omamo
- Railway hosts the Omamo website and server, and our search index.
- Neon hosts our database, in Singapore.
- Google provides sign-in.
- Dodo Payments sells Pro subscriptions as the merchant of record.
They process data only to provide their service to us. Apart from them, we share your data only with the people you invite to a space, who see that space's content, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. Things you delete go to the trash, where you can restore them for 30 days; after that they cannot be restored. To erase your account and everything in it, write to us from the email you sign in with, and we will delete it within 30 days. Payment records are kept by Dodo Payments for as long as tax law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing tokotharidhruv25@gmail.com. These rights come from India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and from laws such as the GDPR where they apply to you. You can also remove the Chrome extension at any time, which stops it from sending anything.
Security
Omamo is served only over HTTPS, and your sign-in cookie cannot be read by scripts on the page. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you.
Children
Omamo is not meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. If a change matters to how your data is used, we will email you before it takes effect.
